The reason for the software is after you get the code. You will still need to get this code from Verizon it is $2 I have a source for it after the code your phone will work for GSM. Even with stock firmware it will ask you for a code but will not work on GSM

it works GSM perfectly after proper modem but needs to be flashed after entering unlock code.
