Member: 2646255 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Another Searching No Service Thread I am the original owner. I purchased it in October of 2014, mailed to me from Apple. Around August, I suddenly found "Searching" on the screen. This phone has never had any issues, no touch disease or bendgate issues. Always in a rugged case. Recently I had someone skilled with micro soldering rehot the BB IC. The phone worked for about 24 hours, before "searching" reappeared. A soft reset (lock + home button) restored service again for several hours, and now "searching" is back. Soft reset does nothing. When "searching" is displayed, the phone will not give IMEI with *#06# Anyone have any experience with this? I would move on and get another phone if this wasn't a 128 GB unlocked model... Does this symptom point to BB PMU ?? The guy who worked on the phone is willing to try again, but I understand there is more risk heating on the opposite side of the board from the CPU. Any advice is appreciated, thank you. |

1) Hard Reset 2) Restore from iTunes. 3) Problem same iOS9 and 10 4) Genius Bar (offered me out of warranty replacement for $420) 5) Rehot BB IC. Fixed temporarily. I think from what I'm reading, the BB IC needs to be re-balled. If the person who did the reheating isn't interested or able to reball the BB IC, I'll be sending it to someone who can. | |
