Another Searching No Service Thread

This is regarding an iPhone 6 128 GB purchased unlocked from Apple.

I am the original owner. I purchased it in October of 2014, mailed to me from Apple.

Around August, I suddenly found "Searching" on the screen. This phone has never had any issues, no touch disease or bendgate issues. Always in a rugged case.

Recently I had someone skilled with micro soldering rehot the BB IC.

The phone worked for about 24 hours, before "searching" reappeared. A soft reset (lock + home button) restored service again for several hours, and now "searching" is back. Soft reset does nothing. When "searching" is displayed, the phone will not give IMEI with *#06#

Anyone have any experience with this? I would move on and get another phone if this wasn't a 128 GB unlocked model...

Does this symptom point to BB PMU ??

The guy who worked on the phone is willing to try again, but I understand there is more risk heating on the opposite side of the board from the CPU.

Any advice is appreciated, thank you.

Have you contacted Apple Support for this? Or make a Genius Bar appointment with the nearest Apple Store to have them diagnose and possibly fix the problem.

This is what I have done:

1) Hard Reset
2) Restore from iTunes.
3) Problem same iOS9 and 10
4) Genius Bar (offered me out of warranty replacement for $420)
5) Rehot BB IC. Fixed temporarily.

I think from what I'm reading, the BB IC needs to be re-balled. If the person who did the reheating isn't interested or able to reball the BB IC, I'll be sending it to someone who can.

Nice. Thank you. Someone is attempting to rehot it again, they aren't capable of reball or fix pathway, so if rehot doesn't work, I'll be sending it away.
