What was the version on your phone before updating it ?!
This sounds like baseband problem but since the phone just released we cant verify that its the problem 100%
You tried to update with 8.1 ?!

First ios 8 after that signal searching and modem frimware gone i trying to update 8.1 many times but get error 53

Is your phone by any chance has been opened for repair
Cuz if this has been verified as hardware problem it will be factory fault and you should send it to apple store

my phone was also in 8.0 but have just one problem of finger print...

now in recovery mode

from the picture i see that itunes is old and wont support that ,update the latest i tunes and try to restore the iphone , if not work then send to the apple store or wait for any soulotion

I got the same problem,I've changed battery and usb but no luck.it is also a brand new unit,it means untouched.

Hi There If Phone is still not restoring then do one thing put your phone on dfu mode and download the software on you computer and restore it from your laptop or computer if is still coming same error then go to apple store and they will change your phone and they will give you new one
