Anyone have any idea how to bypass or fix it?

Home button problem need original home button

touch id problem u need to get original touch id so that it can be restore

This problem occurs when your home button is Short
Or its LCD has been Replaced

Step 1: Open I tunes
Step 2: Download Firmware Or Auto Download From I tunes

Note: The Thumb Or Home Button Should be the Original One

Your Error Will be Fixed

Yes its hardware problem then is only when you replaced LCD with a new hone button
