I have a look at the videos here and it did give me some idea.
But do i need to install any specific USB drivers to link my Lenovo phone to the PC? This is something that is missing.

Thank you.

Drivers are usually contained, together with SPFlashTools, in factory ROM archive.

Since you didn't note which model are you trying to flash,
nor which file you downloaded, I cant tell you precisely
if you have correct rom file at all, etc.

be aware that you may brick your phone with incorrect/bad flash files(s).

Anyway, you can download Lenovo MTK drivers - HERE

Dear Alex,

I will be flashing the Lenovo A5600. The reason is the original firmware that i bought the phone has a lot of malware advertisement.

Okay,

Here are working files for Lenovo A5600 :

FlashTool : SPFlashtool-v5.1628.00.000
ROM File, full stock, translated

Untick preloader when flashing rom, or just flash system (untick all other files in spft),
just to be sure.

Forget about Win10 and phone servicing.
It's just way too stupid OS for such things (and generally for everything else).

Win7/32bit is proven to be totally stable for any operation.

If no any device is detected in device manager,
Upon connecting powered off phone to cable,
You either have non-working usb cable,
Or usb connector on phone itself is bad/dirty.

Time to check usb connector on phone,
and if needed - to replace it with new one.
