So far, no dongles were successful in repairing the IMEI on Lenovo P2 (p2a42) Perhaps someone more knowledgeable in this particular subforum can point me to a product that reliably works? |

Whole Process is a bit complicated, but you can obtain all info on google, 4PDA forum and lenovo-forums .ru b.r. Alex

Member: 2927780 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 3 | Hm, for some reason the QCN trick isn't working for me (I'm sure I did unlock bootloader, I did flash to Marshmallow ROM linked, I did make sure modem matches the marshmallow release) There's a video that seems to suggest something called "EFS method" should be used Last edited by Brka; 01-05-2020 at 22:11. Reason: removed dongle trash |

You dont need ANY dongle/box to repair imei on this device. - after flashing the device, power it on - CHECK IF THERE IS BASEBAND info present under settings/about device (should be displayed) - imei should be empty (*#06#) - Write QCN via QPST/Software Download module - reboot device, check imei again, should be like: 358957060996039 Crucial thing is, that BASEBAND must appear. b.r. I suspect the subtle problem is that I want to CHANGE the imei on a phone with intact IMEI, and QCN restore does not over-write the old imei (so after reboot, the old imei returns) Any pointers as to how to go about changing IMEI in case imei is initially intact (not empty) ? P.S.: currently trying out UMT dongle, no cigar so far... | |
