There's a way to reset device without unlocking bootloader or flashing, it's tricky though, but interesting.
First of all, you'll need to download the loader for your device prog_ufs_firehose_8996_ddr_zuk.elf.
Now download this program emmcdl and extract it into the same folder where the loader file is.
You need to boot your device into edl mode, to do so, follow this.
  • Turn off the phone, plug the USB cable to the computer and the phone at the same time clamped the rocker volume plus (+) and power button.
Now your phone should be in edl mode (9008) under Ports in device manager. Go there and check the port number your device took bcuz you'll need that number.
Hold Shift + Right click inside the folder, then choose open command prompt window here.
Now type and run these commands one by one and before you do, replace "X" with your port number:
Code:
emmcdl.exe -p COMX -f prog_ufs_firehose_8996_ddr_zuk.elf -e userdata
Code:
emmcdl.exe -p COMX -f prog_ufs_firehose_8996_ddr_zuk.elf -e cache
Code:
-e argument indicates to "erase" and after it comes the name of the partition or even the addresses you want to erase.
Now you need to just disconnect your phone and power it on and it should be now all wiped.

I'm sorry my guide is a mess but I hope someone can find it useful anyway.

Best regards

At which point exactly it doesn’t work? Can you post the output of the commands?

Lenovo Zuk Z2 Pro cant hard reset

You may want to try again using this modified commands:

Code:
emmcdl.exe -p comx -f prog_ufs_firehose_8996_ddr_zuk.elf -MemoryName ufs -e userdata
Code:
emmcdl.exe -p comx -f prog_ufs_firehose_8996_ddr_zuk.elf -MemoryName ufs -e cache

We've just specified the memory type the device uses by the argument -MemoryName, which is ufs for ZUK Z2 Pro.
