Do you think that only the clip is broken?
Maybe the power adapter is broken?
If the log like the one shown below is displayed, can you say that the power adapter is not broken?
Is there a way to check which is broken?

"3. Checking PowerAdapter connectivity ...
Process started
PowerAdapter connected, processing request to adapter ... "

PowerAdapter is being used on a later stage, so if you get SD NOT MOUNTED, it's the clip/flex problem.

I am in the same boat but seems like problem is not with the XTC Clip or the flex etc. The problem is that U11 doesn't recognize any SD card in download mode.

For example, if one wants to flash .zip firmware through download mode and copies the file to any normal SD, he will still see "SD NOT MOUNTED" when booted to download mode. On the other hand, same SD will work normally in Android OS.

I hope you get what I wanted to say here:

1. Not Flex Problem - Confirm
2. Not Clip Problem - Confirm
3. Not EEPROM Problem- Confirm
4. Not XTC Clip File System Problem - Confirm
5. Not Phone's sd slot problem - Confirm

Clip works with other phones/PC and all operations are successful. No failures, no "SD not mounted" errors.

Not only the clip doesn't work with U11, even none of the many micro SD cards work with U11 in download mode that I have got available here. All those SDs work fine in the OS in the same phone.

So there is something else, probably some kind of SD card signing that is stopping U11 from seeing any un-signed SD cards in download mode.

I am sure Version 7 Java card would be working fine with U11. But I went on to buy XTC Power adapter instead. Hope you people get it fixed soon.

Thanks for reading.

HTC U11 SD Not Mounted

Sounds like the real problem is neither the XTC Clip nor the Flex cables. U11 doesn't seem to recognize any normal SD cards either and still keeps saying "SD Not Mounted". I have posted the problem in detail here:

http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f961...l#post12612020

Please advise.

Hello!

First I would like to thank you for this investigation, you did a great job!

We have a couple of U11 of different kinds (memory size, etc) and they are working fine with any SD cards.
I can also say, that it's not a problem of "signed or unsigned" cards, as any checks are performed way much later, than the detection of SD card itself.

So I can only suspect, that there are a kind of different hardware (or hardware settings), that HTC must fix in the upcoming releases.

Thanks.

Thanks to you people for offering such a great product.

So as you said, it seems like the problem lies with HTC then. I was thinking that probably nobody tested the clip with U11 until now. If you have successfully tested the clip with U11, then what you are saying must be right.

Is there something else you want me to test with this phone? Compare the versions, cid, hboot etc with the phones that worked connected successfully with XTC previously?

Did some further testing, strange results:

1. Original SanDisk 64GB micro SD works with the same phone.
2. Chinese clone 32GB micro SD also works fine.

I didn't yet manage to find a 16GB SD for testing purposes.

My post (#18) above was based on the facts that I tried 2GB, 4GB and 8GB micro SDs. Both original and cloned. None of them worked.

But 32GB and 64GB are working fine, both original and cloned. Strange!

Any tips on how to get XTC 2 clip working?

Further to our conversation via PM, I have just tried both 2,4 and 8 GB cards with my phone and all of them are working just fine, as well as the XTC 2 Clip.

So, my only idea for now - is that you contact HTC service center, and complain about the inability to use 2/4/8GB cards, as I don't have any limits mentioned under Specs page for U11:

Extended memory: microSD™
https://www.htc.com/us/smartphones/htc-u11/

Actually those SD Cards work fine once booted into the Android OS. They don't work in download mode. That's is kind of funny.

As this is not a retail phone as mentioned in my PM, I guess the customer will not be able to contact HTC and launch a complaint there.

I'm curious is this particular U11 Demo phone? I've had the same problem with one HTC 10 and one HTC U Ultra - both Demo brought to me for converting to standart euro version. Both phones didn't detected XTC2 Clip at all. Neighter in bootloader nor in normal mode. Clip is still detected in PC and older HTC phones...Interesting thing was that even after permanent S-OFF of HTC 10, puting euro CID and converting it to standart euro version it still did'n detect clip...Unfortunately I did not get any not Demo new phones to check how it will be but for now my guess is it is something with Demo version phones.
