This tutorial does not work for the HTC M9 damaged by the update to android 7 nouget, it works for the M9 in 5.1 or 6, the damage seems to be the same as happened when the update came from 5.1 to 6, but the Hosd files do not fix the Download mode on machines that have updated to 7.

The phone goes in download mode without xtc2clip sd adaptor. however when xtc2clip cable inserted in sd slot and change mode to download mode .. it shows htc and keep restarting..
It gets to bootloader and from there I can go to download mode but when xtc2clip inserted in sd slot phone keep restarting on htc.

1. it's hosD, not host.
2. You can flash it only from bootloader mode.
3. If you can boot to download mode - it's a good idea to full flash (you'll have to reboot to RUU since your are S-ON), and then continue the rest.

No. It's not strange. 10 has exactly same Hynix chip inside. There is some kind of counter inside, when expired- EMMC stop working properly and phone go to bootloop in most cases.
What exactly do this hosd file? Is it only help to flash boot throuhg bootloader mode?

hosd file has a download mode inside, so it's just to repair software problem, as in aboot you can flash hosd only, and then, from download mode, you can do the reset. Ofcourse it can't help with hardware failure

You had to make a backup of your original eMMC content before flashing anything. Now you could face network problems after eMMC replacing. If so, try multiple dumps until your phone will start calling to 112.
