Lightbulb XTC 2 PowerAdapter - How to use (manual)

Dear customers,

For complete XTC 2 Power Adapter please visit this thread:

http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f961...017-a-2233953/

Here is a short manual on how to use the new PowerAdapter, and in the meantime we will prepare videos and photos for this guide.

What do we need?

* XTC 2 Tool version 1.31 and higher from here: http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f961...pport-2238267/
* Drivers for PowerAdapter from here: http://xtc2.net/downloads/driver_poweradapter.zip

How to use:

1. Connect XTC 2 PowerAdapter to PC using microUSB cable and install drivers, if not yet installed.
2. Remove smartcard from XTC 2 Clip and insert PowerAdapter instead. Shoul you feel that connection is not tight enough, you may use included stickers to secure the connection.
3. Run XTC 2 Tool and open "PowerAdapter" tab.
4. Connect phone in download mode to PC, and connect XTC 2 Clip to phone's SD slot as for normal S-OFF operation.
5. Process with desired command.

Quote:
Overall, the procedure is almost the same like for regular S-OFF from direct mode, except the PowerAdapter connected to the clip & PC.
Please note, that XTC 2 Tool 1.31 is still in beta, so should you have any questions/comments - simply let us know ASAP.

Hello,

As we wrote before, there is a stock of phones that does not support permanent S-OFF, you can repair IMEI, change CID, reflash phone, etc, or/and unlock bootloader - unlocked bootloader gives almost same option as S-OFF. There is currently no known option to perform permanent S-OFF, as HTC did not implement this feature.

It can do firmware upgrade using Trusted Reboot option in XTC 2 Tool. As to sim-lock, no worries about it, this option will be available very soon.

P.S. Are there any locked U Ultra/Play and U11? Please let me know if you have one.

P.P.S. As I already said before, support area will be updated shortly after the official launch of PowerAdapter, which happened today

So what do you want permanent s-off?. While s-off do, your downgrade, sim unlock, etc. Then there is no need to worry, the downgrade or sim unlock will already be done.

You can still use all features of XTC 2 Clip even without PowerAdapter, please do not start useless discussion. We have released new hardware just because it was impossible to make solution otherwise.

What "Trusted Reboot" actually do with the phone, could you describe more clear?

Maybe japanese model of U11 have simlock, not sure about that.

The phone does the security checks not only whenever the whatever command is issued, but on reboot also, so once rebooted with Trusted Reboot option, phone should allow downgrade, and factory reset from menu, which is hidden when the phone is S-ON and clip is not connected.
