JUST INFO FOR ALL IF GET IMEI PROBLEM IN ASUS PHONE FIRST MAKE SURE YOUR BASEBAND ITS OKEY "NOT UNKNOWN BASEBAND".

HOW TO REPAIR BASEBAND :

* FLASH YOUR PHONE IF DONE YOU CAN REPAIR IMEI

IF NOT SUCCESS 2ND STEP

* FIND BASEBAND IC (PMB 9820) ASUS 5 6 OR C ALREADY TEST BY ME, REBALL OR CHANGE AND BASEBAND WILL FINE.

AFTER THAT YOUR IMEI MUST SHOW OO49xxxx AND NOW REPAIR YOUR IMEI

Hi
I faced the same problem after downgrading from a custom ROM (Android M) to official Lollipop.
Null IMEI and Baseband appeared only on Lollipop, KitKat was fine.
I tried every "fix" on xda but nothing worked.
2 weeks ago i found a solution.
Basically you have to install Android 4.4.2 (official ROM), then upgrade to Lollipop (use 3.24.40.78, don't flash it). You will see null IMEI and Baseband. Wait a couple of minutes and then downgrade to KitKat (don't flash) using the official method provided by ASUS. First you have to install 5.3.3.3. After successfully installing the ROM you will still be on Lollipop. Wait a couple of minutes and check your IMEI and Baseband.
If they are OK, then install 5.2.2.2 to complete the downgrade to KitKat. After that install 3.24.40.78 and finally 3.24.40.78. Perform a factory reset after finishing.

Hope this helps.
Cheers.

EDIT : Since my account is new i can't post links.
