HTC P3450 help needed - GSM-Forum

Hi
I have just taken out a 18 month contract with orange spain and have been given a HTC P3450. I didnt realise that the phone is all in Spanish. Can anyone help me change the language to English. I know i cannot do this with the phones own settings and from what i have read on this forum i need to replace the "rom" with an english one.
I am a total beginner when it comes to doing something like this so i need step by step instructions in plain english please.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi!

If you are a total beginner than it is a bad idea start to flash your own new elf,I think.
Why?
You lose warranty.
If something wrong,you have an expensive paperweight and a 18 month contract(without phone).
Easy to kill,hard to fix(even for trained technicians).

My opinion:
Try to deal with the customer service,if succeed,then your pda has english menu and warranty.
If they don't do it,then ask someone in a shop.It cost some money,but more chance to a working device.(warranty lost in this case too)

WE HAVE NO RESPONSIBILITY IF YOU BRICK YOUR DEVICE,SORRY!

First of all try Language extender:

It is a 14 days trial version and make english from german.Maybe it works from spanish too.If it works,you won.

Thanks everybody.
I will risk bricking the phone if someone can give me clear instructions of how th change the rom, the phone is no good in Spanish to me and orange will not exchange it.

Did you read my previous post about language extender?
Try that first and post results!(If it works,no risk bricking your device or lose warranty!)

Hi
Just tried downloading your software onto my phone and it looked like it was going well until it asked me to press send when the message came up asking if the software was from a trusted source.
I didnt know where the send button was so i pressed the green telephone button and now it seems as if the phone as been reset to factory default.

Any advice?

What I need:
After power on the device there is a boot screen with version numbers,post here them.
In the menu: start->settings->device info
there are more infos,versions,identity,hardware,etc... I need them.

Windows mobile 6 professional SO CE 5.2.1620 (Compilacion 18125.0.4.2)
Version Del Operador 23.221.15.751
Version de la ROM 2.21.75.1.ESN
Date ROM 10.05.07
Radio 02.91.90
protocol 4.1.13.43
CPU omap850-201MHz

Obviously its in Spanish so if you need anything else let me know

You need it if something goes wrong,you can recover your device.
