Why do you use this station, is it better frome the standard preheater?

It is more precise and generate more heat, so it is wise to use them in some specific repair cases.

Do I need that station to replace the micro usb port in Xiaomi smartphone? Will hot plate be enough?

Hot plate will be enough for this repair. You don't need to spend thousands on such a device.
