The other important thing is that the 7280 is primarily a US phone. It is triband, but with 850 as the low band instead of 900 like the 7230. I know most gsm world stuff runs on 900/1800 and the 7280 will pick up 1800, but many countries have a weak 1800 signal and a very strong 900 signal.

I am in afghanistan right now, and my 7280 will only run with the MTN (areeba) network here, even though the 3 other gsm operators say that they are broadcasting on 900 and 1800. My 7230, 7290, and 8700 all pick up every network fine, but the poor old 7280 just can't.
