Samsung SGH-U600 slide problem

Hi,
I have a SGH-U600 and unfortunately i dropped it from like 15 meters on a concrete surface. The phone is still working fine despite of a few more scratches and a more annoying problem: when i slide it up/down it doesn’t do what it is supposed to do, meaning answer a call or ending it (i switched this options on and of from the menu without any results. Is there a switch that it tells when the slide is up or down? where do i find it?
I've downloaded the service manual for it but there is no reference for this problem.
