billyx, thanks a lot for your help, the device is working well now!
There's still one thing though,
my headset (SonyEricsson HBH-600) can be paired and is recognized as a headset in the Widcomm Bluetooth Environment, but the audio stream doesn't work.
Do I have to declare that device as well in the "btwusb.inf" ?

No, it should work without any further modifications.

You must answer the "call" on the headset after creating the connection and output the Audio-Stream on the Bluetooth-Audio device.

I answer by clicking on my headset and the connection is established.
But I cannot hear any audio exept a very low noise.

Everything is set on Bluetooth audio (skype, windows sound settings ..)

I tried the generic csr device firmware on my bluetooth and now it is unusable. Is there a way to fix my device?

Oops, another poor victim just like me. I have shared my sad story here in the hope that it will prevent other people from destroying their dongle, just like what I did with mine. As I said in the previous post, it's more likely that you will kill your dongle than actually make it work. The firmware contains specific tuning settings thus each dongle has a different firmware and unless your dongle is truly generic, with generic tuning values, the generic CSR firmware will only kill it. But don't worry, it's not totally dead, just place your phone VERY near the dongle, you should still be able to connect.

I HOPE THIS WILL BE THE LAST OF IT. I don't want to hear another sad story here . IF IT'S NOT BROKEN DON'T FIX IT! I guess we already have several dead (or crippled) dongles in this thread. I think unless we have a way to backup the firmware first, then until that time, I would suggest you don't try flashing your device.

Sorry to hear about that, but as of the moment I have not found the solution to make my crippled dongle work 100%. The manufacturer (Epox in my case) will not give me a good firmware. So unless you find the right firmware for your dongle, then your stuck with a 1m dongle.

Please read the previous posts in this thread. All you need to know is there and was already answered. But let me inform you that there is no working firmware yet unless you truly have a GENERIC dongle, that's because a firmware is VERY specific for a certain brand, with all tuning settings. Only a lucky few have actually flashed and survived, mostly don't. I guess if you only read the previous posts and the whole thread, that would at least have made you think twice of flashing.

Another one bites the dust

Yep, got a truly generic one (no name, VID 0A12/PID 0001). Flash didn't work for version 828 and 829a. Got a PID ffff now Stuck in DFU state. Should have read the whole post before flashing. Does anyone have a GenericCSR525.dfu by the way?

Well, I have an CSR USB Bluetooth Device (VID 0A12 PID 0001) with firmware 525 ... and I flashed it with your firmware. I was all right at first ... got "succes update", but ... after an restart vid and pid became (Vid_0a12&Pid_1000 ).

Now my computer recognize my dongle as: "USB Human Interface Device" , and adds "HID-compliant mouse" and "HID Keyboard Device" to my computer's Device Manager.

My bluetooth software DOES NOT recognise my dongle anymore. (i tried v1.4.2.10 , v1.4.3.4, v3.0.1.905, v3.0.1.912).

Is there any way to rollback to the original state ?? -->(VID 0A12 PID 0001)
I tried to flash my dongle with firmware 829, but the flashing soft does not find it !

PLEASE HELP !!

Thanks,
Cedracu

Hid....?

My BT dongle manual tells me that it doesn't support a HID interface

BTW: I use Hacked WidComm 3.0.1.906 patched drivers and it is still not working as a HID.

Is it possible that some devices cannot support HID?
Or are there other options...?

Never heard of this problem before. But your flashing soft should find it if it is recognized by windows as bluetooth apapter. You should edit btwusb.inf and add VID 0A12 PID 1000 as bluetooth device and install the driver then. After that your flashing soft should recognice the dongle and you can try the flashing once more.

The support of the profile is implementet in the firmware. If your firmware doesn't support it it will not be enabled by the widcom-software.

Widcomm on VAIO

Will these Widcomm driver patches work for the internal bluetooth on SONY Vaio notebook?
My VAIO came with only built-in XP SP2 microsoft drivers. The internal chip is made by Alps, but there is no support on there website (or from Sony). I'd like to use additional functionality (headset audio profile) of these Widcomm drivers, but would like to know if anyone has had success. Any risk of damaging firmware?

No risk of damaging firmware, the propability of working with widcomm IMHO 50%. If it doesn't work you can deinstall the widcomm drivers and XP should recognice it with the internal drivers.
