Uploading RIngtones & Pics to C100 - GSM-Forum

Hi

I have tried EasyStudio and EasyGPRS 2.1.6 and they all don't work. I can edit my phone book but i can not upload images or ringtones to my phone, its says "failed to send". Pls HELP I am getting frustrated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

used infra red device check working or not

then active infra red in modile then put the mobile in the range of
infra red the run easy gprs 2.1.6

they will detect your mobile automatic
and then use melody to mobile option and image to mobile etc.

Hi

the program reads my phonebook and messages but I can't upload pic or ringtones, that is my problem. I do all of this thru IR

hi, I had same problem initially, but found out that if you do the following it works. with regards to pictures:

convert all you pictures using a graphics editor to the following specs:

1.) 128 x 97 pixels
2.) change colour depth to 256 colors
3.) save image as a .bmp file
4.) make sure that the saved .bmp does NOT have RLE compression.

This should sort your problem out.

With regards to the ringtones, there is an application that converts .mid file to a compatible format for use with EasyGPRS. Search for in on Google, cos I cant remeber what is was called!

You can use EasyGPRS 2.1.6 (or 2.1.2) provided by Samsung (you can get it from www.samsungmobile.com)
At first, you should check if ur IrDA cable was connected and installed correctly (WinXP will automatically detect ur device, but the others like Win98, WinME and even Win2K don't)
Then, you have to install EasyGPRS software and active ur phone's IrDA port (Menu-4-1)
After that, you can start EasyGPRS, it will automatically load ur phone book, SMS, call record... Use MelodyToPhone to upload ringtones and ImageToPhone to upload images.
Ur image can be .GIF, .JPEG or .BMP format (I usually use .JPEG)
I think you don't need to change color depth to 256, it works well with .JPEG but with some animated .GIF, it can't (maybe image's size is a little big)

I have tried everthing but it still gives me an error. Can I use the cable supplied with LG G7100, they fit perfectly? I feel like i have hit a dead end with this issue

DONT DO THIS,WILL NOT WORK.SAMSUNG HAS NOT DESIGNED THE C100 CABLE YET DUE TO THE LOW DEMAND.TRY AN IRDA ON OTHER PC.MAYBE IT WILL WORK

Maybe there are problems with ur IrDA cable, ur PC or ur handphone. Go to nearest Samsung support center to figure out what's wrong...
In Samsung support center, there are usually some PC with recharge cable and IrDa cable... You can go there and use for free! :-)

I am using EasyGPRS software for my C100. It is working fine, I can upload Pics and Tones as well.

Uploading is okie now, so why don't we talk about polyphonic ringtone for Samsung...
I'm wondering if the sound card has any affect on converting .mid into .mmf... (by PSM or something like that) I think it does!
Can anybody tell me about that?
