How to get completely rid of MS Intellipoint SW??

Hi there!

I switched from Widcomm 1.4210 to 1.4.3.4 due to problems of loading the BT-Stack driver at startup of Win XP. Now even with Jon´s excellent instructions my MS Bluetooth Intellimouse and the MS BT-Stick aren´t recognized whatsoever.
I´m always being prompted for those §$$&% bth_oobc.dll and Q323183, how do I completely get rid of this MS nonsense?

I think it is possible to get the Widcomm software to co-operate with the microsoft drivers so you don't have to nuke them. This is actually probably a better solution than nuking the MS drivers. Have a look at the advanced section of the guide (I only added this info about 2 days ago)

I must stress that I haven't tested this yet myself as I don't have the MS drivers or any MS hardware. I have based this on some very detailed correspondence. If you have any problems with it or anything is inaccurate please let me know

Hi, I too have tried it. Doesn't appear to work. Widcomm doesn't recognize the MS bluetooth adapter for some reason... It does work with Blue Soleil though.

OK, it works now. After installing the Widcomm drivers as instructed by Jon on his website, I manually updated the the transceiver driver to the one by Widcomm (tell Windows to look for the drivers in the C:\Drivers\WIN\BDCACT\ directory for the btwusb file. After, the driver is loaded into C:\windows\system32. After that, update again, but this time, pick from a list. Now you will have two options.... the driver by MS or by Widcomm. pick the Widcomm one.. I think that's it).

OK, it´s working now but I had to uninstall the MS BT-Service Pack, then use bth_oobc.dll and "manually" install the btwusb.inf. With the BT-SP installed it was a no-go because the stick was already recognized by the system but not by the Widcomm-SW.
