Bluetooth Connection Problems

Hi all,

I have a MSI PC2PC (or BToes whatever you want to call it) bluetooth dongle. I am having problems connecting with my Nokia 6600. I have the latest version of the drivers from MSI's site and the latest version of PC Suite from Nokia site. Have had the setup working previously but now for some reason it's not working.

So, I uninstalled everything (related to phone/BT) and reinstalled. Now when I select the BTtray icon and then Quick Connect -> Bluetooth Serial Port -> Nokia 6600, the phone asks if the computer can connect which I say ok to, and then I get another message saying that eveything has connected ok. I also get the bluetooth connected icon on the phone.

Also I have the bt serial port set to COM5 and in Mrouter I have it set to look on COM5 for the phone. I then load PC Suite but the Nokia 6600 does not appear in the known devices box, in fact nothing does.

Can anyone help with this one? Am I missing something obvious? Also I've seen mention of WIDCOMM drivers, what are these? Sorry I'm not in the know with Bluetooth. Surely you'd think that XP would have some sort of internal support for bluetooth without having to install software.

One more question once I have this working will I be able to synchronise my outlook 2003 contacts and calendar, I read that you could which was the reason for getting Nokia 6600 and usb BT connector.

Thanks for any help

Steve

Widcomm write the drivers, but don't provide them to end users. The drivers you have are probably Widcomm drivers, they're slightly customised, and then compiled by the provider of your hardware. Try the guide at http://www.jonscaife.com/bt

Yes, you should be able to sync your calendar and contact from Outlook 2003.
