Short one....is it possible to download any games for Sagem myx-5 through a data cab? - GSM-Forum

Hi guys....only me again,
Following my traumatic experience of unlocking my myx-5 and downloading lots of tones and wallpapers (most unsuccessfully but some work!) I was hoping someone would know if you can download any games for the handset through this data cable like java games?? Or some others maybe in a different format??
Also does anyone know why the larger ringtones I have tried to download/upload onto my phone try to and the phone won't recognice them? Is it simply because the files are too large or what? I dont get it!!!

MYX5 is not a java phone, so its pointless trying with them. And yes, your ringtones are too large.

No probs mate, I'm glad I can help someone else.
I use a COM port data cable so not sure if software or ringtones will work with the new USB cables if that's what you've got? I bought a COM cable as I was told these were best and the only ones that you could unlock phones with

but I'm still none the wiser

Software I used is a brilliant program called "My discover" and is specifically for the myx-5 and no other phone. The automatic detection on it is brilliant and was the only program to detect my phone (along with one other actually that read my log codes but my discover also reads log codes).
But anyway yeah that program is great....you can try searching for it free on google for the new version (1.06 I think) but it is all in French, alternatively you can add me to your messenger (wynneian@hotmail.com) and I can send you this file I got with my cable that is version 1.0 and can be altered easily via the settings so it is all in English!!
You can then easily send tones, wallpapers, etc to the phone.
Wallpapers tend to be harder to find that work, lots of ones that are sposed to work but don't exist!
Tones need to be really small files Ive just learnt, and there is an odd site here where the tones sound horrendous on media player, but on your phone sound completely different and actually really good!! (Ive got exorcist, mission imposs and handbags and gladrags(from the BBC office series)), this site is:

You can try to download pretty much any picture to your phone as a wallpaper via this software and sometimes it will work!!
Anyway let me know if you have naymore problems with it.
Oh one other thing, the software will only detect your mobile if the "data" option on your phone (under the accessories menu) is manually set to "automatic". Mine seems to reset itself to another setting so you have to change it every time you want to download something

Hi,

you could use also "my pictures and sounds". It works well with my x5...But pull down Baud to 19200 because some cheap cables dont work with higher Bauds. Hope you understand my english?!

Now I just wabnt to know if there are any My-X5 games for downloading available?? Or do you know what type of games (programming language or so) are used with the "standard" games? It should be possible to programm new one if there aren't any progs available...
