When setting a picture as wallpaper there is always a gap top and bottom of the screen.My question is is it possible for the picture to cover the whole screen.

no, it is only possible with some themes whose default wallpaper's extended to full screen

try resizing the picture to 176*144 which is the default resolution of the wallpaper the images of 1142*864 do not fit properly because of the aspect ratio

use noika pc suite to convert the images it convert exactly of ur screen size.
