Orange SPV C600 and Tom Tom Navigator 6 - Installation Guide

Hi,

Just found sometime to do some R & D, and here are the results.

I download the Tom Tom 6 Software from here
http://rapidshare.de/users/5FQR80

Maps from here
http://rapidshare.com/users/NVTO7M

You need the following.

1. Navigator_6__WindowsMobile_.rar (from the Software folder)
2. zupUKv.504.rar (7 Digit postcode search)
3. UK and Ireland maps
United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland.part1.rar
United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland.part2.rar

Unzip all the above file in your PC (ensure it is in correct folder)

Steps for Installation.
1. Connect the MINI SD Card to your PC (via card reader)
2. Create the following director structure
\storage card\Navigator
\storage card\zip
\storage card\United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland
3. Copy all the unzipped contents of the Navigator_6__WindowsMobile_.rar into Navigator folder
4. Copy all the unzipped contents of the zupUKv[1].504.rar into zip folder
5. Copy all the unzipped contnes of the maps into United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland folder.
6. Ensure that the SD card is defragmented (OPTIONAL STEP)
7. Disconnect the SD Card from the PC
8. Attach the MiniSD Card into you SPV C600.
9. Swith on the SPV C600
10. Use filemanger to browse to the storagecard\navigotor directory.
11. Click the TomTom Navigator.exe to launch the application.
12. It will ask for configuration...(like home address etc etc...)

Thats it...

Issues I am facing.
1. As this TTN 6 requires Touch screen, the keyboard screen will appear for input.
2. The Joystick up/down action is controlling the volume
3. There is no left/right action
4. Can't use backspace to clear an entry.
5. I found, Moving the joystick right is the only way the menu navigation is working (left top to right bottom).
6. Keypad 0 is used for inputting a blank space..

Any more help from other is helpfulll
Happy hacking...

Hi, thanks for the walkthrough. I do have one somewhat major problem, however. When I run the application on my C600, it launches fine and asks which language I'd like. After I have confirmed my choice, it simply states that my device is not compatible and TomTom closes.

Any advice on how to get around this would be great, thanks.
