MP3-quality ringtones on 2310 ?! - GSM-Forum

The technical specs say the 2310 supports digitized audio as ringtones. However I tried many formats, (including AMR made by the official Nokia converter), and no one works. The pone gives strange beeps, likely tries to interpret them as MIDI data.

Any idea?

PS: this phone CAN be connected using FBUS and MoBiMB 3.3.7.

It supports only 5 seconds wave file

My (unsuccessful) attempts were made using a 3 seconds long file, ~8K in size.

I begin to think this is a hoax. It is logical that if the phone supported digitized ringtones, then there would be at least one pre-installed. Especially because (officially) it can't receive any. But (at least in the 2310) there isn't any. IMHO the AMR codec support is just for speech encoding.
