I have an ISSC BT dongle vid:1131 with a Tungsten T3.
Running Windows Server 2008 x64 Enterprise RTM.

What works??

BlueSoleil version 5 gives me the error:

Driver is not for this platform (however it worked fine on RC1)

I tried widcomm 5.1.0.1100 and it tells me the driver is missing or corrupt,

So, the burning question is, Does anything work with this OS?????

PS: no problems with Widcomm and Vista x64 Ultimate,

I am running this os because it is sooooooooooo much faster and more rock solid..

Now, my Bluetooth is dead in the water.

Widcomm does not work at all and BlueSoleil did partially work with RC1 and now it does not work at all.

So, that is my problem.

That did not work at all. The PAN would not start. The Hot Sync did not work either.

It did, however, give me a connection in the Network and Sharing. I could set it up there as well as in the Hot Sync Manager in my Palm OS.

I then Installed version 5.0.0.178 x64 that I previously used on Server x64 Enterprise Full Edition RC1.

Now it works to a point. The Hot Sync works fine.
The PAN does not show up in the Network and Sharing Center, just like in RC1. So, I can't set it up to use the Internet, same problem in RC1.

I went to the Microsoft Server 2008 forums and posted this problem a while ago. No one knows how to fix this.

I tend to think, something is not turned on on the Microsoft side. BlueSoleil tells me that com port 4 is on when I try to access the internet then on my Palm I get the error:

Timeout (0x1212).. All of this is due to not having the connection in the Network and Sharing Center.

More news as it becomes available, Film at 11..

I made my bluetooth work for windows server 2008 following this guide:

I have a laptop that don't have network card and I use bluetooth network for internet access. W2K8 is network access point. Everything works. But if you want to connect to the remote desktop of the W2K8 machine you have to disable the bttray.exe from starting every time you log on. (link 3 - last post)
BTTray.exe resets the bluetooth and disconnects you if you are connecting thru remote desktop. So you have to disable it from starting every time or make it run as scheduled task because its needed only once per reboot, and not at every user logon.

ps: tested only with 32 bit version of windows. no idea if the instructions apply for the 64bit.
ps2: just checked. it should work for the 64 bit version too.

I tried it and it bombed. I used Widcomm 5.1.0.1100, which is the latest version that will work with my VID 1131 dongle. It came up with the infamous code 39 error. Your driver is missing or corrupt.

It has always installed and ran fine on Vista x64 Ultimate.

I do have a Trendnet TBW-101 dongle which I will try next.

However, I have never been able to get it to work on any os.
