Nokia 5310 Xm (rm-303) Firmware Update New Version 05.81

NOKIA 5310 (RM-303) FIRMWARE UPDATE
NEW VERSION 05.81

NOTE: Only RM-303 products. NO RM-304 compatibility . To find out which code is your cellphone dial*#0000#.

The most radical change you'll get is a SIGNIFICATIVE increase of ringing or loudspeakers volume, I can really assure you there's a HUGE difference !!!

Follow general steps and ONLY those identified with your cellphone COLOR

Programs required:

-Nemesis Service Suite Beta 1.0.38.12 (NSS)
-Nokia Software Updater (NSU)

Files required:
-http://rapidshare.com/files/98122535...files.rar.html (Nokia 5310 red color)
-http://rapidshare.com/files/10031742...files.rar.html (Nokia 5310 blue color)

PRIOR NOTE : Remember always have your phone FULLY CHARGED and SIM instaled. Otherwise you can get a nice paperweight!!!. Confirm you have good internet speed and disable your screensaver or program it for 1 hour delay.

1)-Connect your phone to PC using USB cable (choose PC Suite mode on your phone) and if needed wait for driver installation. The cellphone should always be powered-on and Normal profile activated.

2)-Backup all your info from your phone, via PC Suite or using Backup option to your phone's microSD.

3)-Close any Nokia software or other that uses your phone.

4)-Open NSS, click on magnifying glass icon (right upper corner).

5)-Click on Nokia 6600 icon (Phone Info)

6)-In the block "Actions" click "Scan" button (the cellphone info should be displayed on the left text zone)

7)-In the block "Production Data Edit" click "Read" button. (Some cells will fill with info). NOTE: It's recomended to save/write and later restore this numbers once actualization is done in order to leave the phone with its original codes.

8)-In the "Product Code" option checkmark "Enable" box. Erase the numbers showed (generally they are like 05*****), write the new code which is gonna be:

0546968 (Nokia 5310 red color)
0548679 (Nokia 5310 blue color)

Click on "Write" button and wait until the word "Done" is displayed on the message state box in left lower corner.

9)-Close NSS.

10)-Open folder: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Nokia\Nokia Service Layer\A\nsl_service_module_00001\vpls\http://www.dsut.online.nokia.com.oti...roducts\rm-303
IMPORTANT: Application Data folder is a hidden system folder so you'll have to activate the "show hidden folders" option of your OS in order to access it. I recomend using Start>Run option and copy/paste the address shown to access directly to the folder.
Windows Vista users: the folder addres is: C:\ProgramData\Nokia\Nokia Service Layer\A\nsl_service_module_00001\vpls\http://www.dsut.online.nokia.com.oti...roducts\rm-303
In case you find any file you must erase ALL. This folder should be completely empty!! Do not close the folder window 'cause you will use it again..

11)-Open NSU. Click om "Start", then "Next". The software will give you two possible messages: (1) that you already have installed the latest version but if you wish you can REINSTALL it, or (2) that there's a new firmware available for your phone so you can INSTALL it.

12)-Either message shown you'll have to click "ReintalL" or "Install" button.

13)-NSU will start downloading update files (which sizes aprox. 33 MB), that's why it's recomended a good internet speed connection.
HIGHLY IMPORTANT STEPS:
14)-When update progress shows aprox. 26 MB downloaded you must "disconnect USB cable from PC" and let download process to normally ends. Then you'll get a message showing that phone connection is lost or the device is not recognized and will ask for connection RETRY. DO NOT PAY ATTENTION TO THIS, I mean, DO NOT CLICK on ANY button and do not close the software!!!.

15)- Go to folder: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Nokia\Nokia Service Layer\A\nsl_service_module_00001\vpls\http://www.dsut.online.nokia.com.oti...roducts\rm-303 and erase the following files:
(Nokia 5310 red color):
rm303__03.63.image_c_red
rm303__03.63.mcusw
rm303__03.63.ppm_c

(Nokia 5310 blue color):
rm303__03.63.image_c_blue
rm303__03.63.mcusw
rm303__03.63.ppm_c

16)-In the compressed file you'd preaviously downloaded,

N5310_flash_files.rar (Nokia 5310 red color)

N5310_blue_flash_files.rar (Nokia 5310 blue color)

you'll find three replacement files for those you've just erased, copy/paste them to the mentioned folder.

17)-Once you have replaced the files reconect the USB cable to PC and click "Retry" button on NSU window.

18)-The software will begin updating. Let this process to end normaly without touching ANY on the PC or cellphone. This process takes about 15 min. NSU will tell you that version 03.63 installation is correctly completed. What NSU doesn't know is that we replaced the files so don't worry for this message.

19)-The phone will restart and will ask for your SIM code. Maybe it will take a little longer loading but once you get to main screen dial *#0000# and confirm that your new firmware is V 05.81
CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Any questions are welcome!! Regards!!

That code is for Euro GSM Zone. Your code is for Asia&Pacific-Philippine GSM Zone...is that right?

There's no problem changing the Product Code because you can latter change it back again to original number following the initial steps with Nemesis Service Software.

What I recommend you my friend is to use Product Code 0558555 and run normally NSU, because for that code firmware 05.91 was officially released and the language pack is the same your phone has right now (English, Chinese, Japanese, Philippine, Vietnamese. With this code you won't have to do anything else but to let NSU normally upgrade your phone. Latter you can change back your original Product Code.

This firmware is for Phoenix 2007.44 and there's no crack for that version. It's easier via NSU trick
