How Do You Install A Map? - GSM-Forum

Hello all,

For years i have been using my pda as my navigator and paid for all the updates and maps (yes, I know - "Honest John").

I am a complete and utter NOVICE when it comes to some of the hacks and cracks you guys are talking about on this forum, so I respectfully ask all you techy-bods to help me understand some things and, hopefully, show me how to install a hacked map....

I have recently downloaded a hacked Tomtom ver 6 for my pda. It seemed to install fine and I replaced the .exe with the cracked version. All good so far.

I then copied the maps from my brother's Tomtom One SD card to mine (hoping that's all it would take!) but Tomtom does not recognise the maps.

So, I'm sure you've all guessed my $64,000 questions; how do I do it? What do I need? Where can I get it?

The Tomtom ver 6 I have is the one plastered all over the net - the one with the Guam map. Incidentally, the maps I actually want are the current UK and Ireland ones.

Your help is much appreciated.....

Hi Guys,
I have been reading the forum post for the last three days...and banging my head with wall....

I have installed the tt7 but I dont know how to install the maps... I copied the maps v6.75 on the SD card, used the Keygen to get the activation code but the tt7 says no maps installed

my question is how I am going to activate them if tt7 does't detect them....

I also have download maps v6.75 posted by BuMobile in his post #1830 on the second sticky of "rout 66 problems solved here" post but it needs password .... does any one knows the password...for the rar

Map is device specific.
Please post your device ID and the map version you are using and I will post the activation code.

You are out of luck. The map is version 7.20, and is not usable in Tomtom6. You'll need to find Tomtom 6.75 or 6.60 maps.

Just my luck!!! Would anyone know where I can get ver 6.75 or 6.6 GB and IE maps??

All the links I've tried are dead.

Hi Everyone,

Just found this page and hope you guys can help me.

I have a AT&T tilt and really want to run TT on it. I have DL and installed version 7 and love the new features, however I can't get the maps to work. I have been trying various kegen's with little success.

I want to use the North_America maps v.805
North_America_2GB-12.meta
my device id is AB8HJAM8QJ

I would really love to learn how this process is to work...
