It looks great! does it work with a normal datacable on serial port? Or does it need a usb cable? Anyone test it yet? I have no cable yet but the serial cable is only €9,- and the usb version €29,- ...

I've been using all the official SonyEricsson software for months!
I've tested it ALL with the serial cables and they work fine but.. You need a T68 cable tho - The "unlocking" cables for other phones in the txx range (with the same connector) wont work... Also - MPM (The phone communication section of the software) is quite bad. You have to connect the phone and wait till it recognises it - sometimes you have to remove the phones entry in the software before it will be detected! The application layer itself is actually quite good - especially the ability to select the area of a larger picture with the little red box! Check esato.com forums for more info on sonyericsson phones and for ringtones/logos (free of course)! Rgdz |

thnx!
Do you by any chance know the difference in schematic between the T68 and other Txx series cables? Cause the ones I see around here are specified to work for the whole txx series... not one just for t68. -=K=- |

I dont have the schemes man
![]() I bought one of those 4 -> 1 kits (1 rs232 -> 4 phone end connectors) like the nokia ones a while ago. Needless to say they were factory manufactured and covered in epoxy or wheva so I can't really see (Yeh, cheap cables e/one has and they still epoxy/rubber.. pretty sad!) Maybe theres a difference between "unlock" and "comms" schemes (i dunno.. lol, I just know some other manufacturers do it). I can't remember where I bought the cable from (the t68 one) but it was only about £10 (inc. uk p&p) and not original SonyE so it's not too much of a loss even if the modification is only small (I wanted to keep my old one anyway so i'm not left without a cable for the rest of the series!) Theres also a flurry of software at http://www.christersson.org/software_main.asp Sendfile is quite handy (lets you send ringtones instead of typing them!) and his rttl ringtone converter is flawless and handy for use with http://totalgsm.net ringtones ![]() ThemeCreator is also quite fun ![]() Oh and I forgot - unless your using gprs for wap, you'll probably timeout when trying to download themes from esato.com wap site so download them on your pc and use sendfile! To use the software at http://www.christersson.org/software_main.asp you need MobilePhoneMonitor (MPM) from sonyericsson site (come with other sonyericsson software!) Rgds |

Thanx alot!
About the MPM... I couldn't find it anywhere on the SonyEricsson site... I downloaded it from elsewhere... Package_5_for_Ericsson_PFW_version_R2A04.exe is this still an uip to date version? Thanx again for the info. Just ordered a cable... now I just have to wait ![]() -=K-= |

Lol, no worries!
Yeh i think its up to date! If you go to www.sonyericsson.com/support and enter your phone model into the product finder you'll have a full list of options. Just click software to get a list of all the SonyE software thats available! |

My cable has no external power and works perfectly.
I used it for uploading logo's and theme's, not for flashing. -=K=- |

Yehp - mine too!
can't mind where I bought it.. either IRWebOnline or MobileFun but it wasn't external powered! Tho it WAS in some way different from other Txx cables internally (can't see tho, factory rubber sealed ends.. lol) |
