Sagem my V65 battery problem

Hi all,

I'm trying to help out a friend by getting photos from her old Sagem myV65.
However there seems to be some sort of an issue with the battery.
She bought a data cable online but when connected to a PC would not charge the phone therefore there was no way to turn on the phone. She then tried it using a USB to mains plug socket but this still wouldn't charge the phone.
I am then coming to the conclusion that there is a problem with the battery.

So my questions are.........

1. Is there any other reason why the battery wouldn't be charging? I'm not too familiar with these phones so it's possible i'm jumping to conclusions prematurely!

2. Would it be possible to power up the phone without a battery? I was thinking of trying to apply a voltage to the battery connections to mimic the battery voltage. Has anyone ever tried this, and if so, would anyone know the correct voltage and which of the 3 pins are for which function?

Hopefully someone can help with this as the photos are important so really hoping to get them back somehow!

looking forward to any replies!

Thanks very much,

Nivey
