yes right , this error is expected after listing partitions , do like this

if you want manually read and backup selected partitions then

1. Tick on Checkbox Reboot after listing Partitions, after listing partitions device will reboot.

2. Now Connect again device in EDL Mode and select which Partitions need for backup and click on Read Firmware Button.

If you want to read Firmware in Auto Mode Please Tick on Auto Mode Check Box and Click on Read Firmware Button . This will backup firmware from device.
