Since the release of the new iPhone 12 model, many new iPhone users have been experiencing information application problems. Some users complained that they did not see the SMS messages from friends, lost the text messages in group chats, and did not receive notifications when they received the text messages.
It is not clear whether this is directly related to the iPhone 12 model or whether it is related to iOS 14.1 and iOS 14.2, but most of the complaints seem to come from iPhone 12 users.
According to netizens, users who missed the text messages can't see some text messages sent from Android devices at all, nor can they see messages in group chats.
Some Verizon users have been able to resolve their SMS messages by downloading the Verizon Message + app, but this is not a complete fix for everyone and does not apply to non-Verizon users.
One user also successfully reset the network settings, but it has no effect on other users. Switching to 5G does not seem to be the solution.
This may be that the operator needs to use updated firmware to solve it, or Apple needs to fix it in an upcoming software update. There seems to be a problem in both iOS 14.1 and iOS 14.2, and it is not yet certain whether iOS 14.3 is affected.
