Dont forget most of the so called gsm unlockers who want free, cheap, cracked soft and hardware are sunday unlockers. Proffesionals always get the buisness and get great response from there customers, you need to spend money in buisness to make money.
I have always been happy with furious and nearly all updates were 1st ones released for the particular models.
So in short if you have to pay for certain updates thats fine as that ill keep the freeloaders from unlocking phones to cheap.
