| The downloaded tones aren't stored in your PPM, they are stored in your EEPROM. It is in the EEPROM where checksum recalculation takes place.
The tones that are in the PPM are the static tones (i.e Ring Ring, Mosquito).
The SMS alert tones on the other hand (according to ICE DRAGON) are located at the MCU portion of your flash.
