I've write hits several times here on the forum.
1. Make sure the phone has a correct firmware (if not sure, just flash it)
2. Then, the most important thing -
DO NOT CONNECT the phone in the
FLASH MODE (powered off, holding 'C' or '2'+'5'),
EXCEPT OF cases:
- when the phone is impossible to power-on because of corrupted security zone
- when there is a problem to boot/detect the phone in the flash-mode
3. Make sure, that phone
MODEM drivers are installed and connect the powered-on phone (not required to run the unlocker application, this can be done just using the windows device manager), so it is correctly detected in
WMC (MODEM) MODE.
Being able to use the modem-mode is ESSENTIAL, otherwise you won't be able to finish the unlock
4. Run the unlocker application and connect the phone in modem-mode, the unlock procedure is then straightforward and does not require any user interaction
