T60 T60p EEPROM you treat it as LSI

Locating the T60 connection points
Switch the T60 OFF.
You should have downloaded the hardware Maintenance Manual already, if you have not done so,
Click the hyperlink below to appropriate to your model T60 to download the PDF file containing the T60 Hardware Maintenance Manual, you will need to install Adobe Acrobat Reader to view the manual, Adobe Acrobat is FREE and can be obtained here -> Adobe Downloads once you have downloaded the files, close the browser window to return to this page.

once on the page, It is best to Right Click on the link above then Save "Target as" that way you will have a copy of the PDF file on your PC.

There are 2 possibilities with T60, different versions of the System board.
The Easy one just below or another one further below if your T60 does not match the easy method.
Easy method connection points are just under the keyboard, refer to Hardware Maintenance Manual Remove Keyboard and also Palm Rest and or Palm Rest and Fingerprint Reader.
Remove the palm rest, lift up Keyboard and put it aside backwards while it remains connected, on the left you can see a large LSI with the connection points for SDA and SCL, GND is connected to one of the metal clips holding the RAM cards.

NOTE: On some T60 variants there is a shield over the connection points just under the keyboard - thereby forcing you - to dismantle it in order to gain access to the connection points.
If your T60 doesn't look like the images above, then try the next image, the not so easy method.
note you do NOT remove the fan etc as has been done in the image above.
Once you have your HMM search the manual for "Removing and replacing a FRU" then scroll down to 1200 System Board, it's on Page 97 of the manual, follow the instructions in the manual to remove all the other FRUs to gain access to and remove the System Board.
You need to access the pads underneath the intel 82801GBM as illustrated below.
This is not easy, you will need to have the Keyboard and LCD plugged into the system board in such a way that none touch any contacts on the system board, use paper as an insulator to keep things from electrically shorting out, later you will need to plug in the AC adaptor and switch on the TP while holding 3 probes to the GND SCL and SDA points under the system board. Do NOT switch ON the T60 now, that will be done LATER.
Assembling your TP
You need to re-assemble your TP as you will have to have it switched ON and running to read the eeprom.
Follow the Hardware Maintenance Manual [FRU System Board], very carefully, double check screw type and size for each individual module. Assemble the TP in the reverse order used to dismantle it.
