Original firmware version suppose to be checked before performing any operation to the phone. Otherwise phone can be easily damaged by flashing wrong firmware version and it is not always possible to restore it.
Please sign what information is signed under the battery of the phone.
Also, sign whether your phone has some Network provider logo on the cover.
