I wanted to find out how can i create a .cab that i can use to do a total customisation to my requirements.

for example,
1.assign a specific number to emergency numbers and make it show the text label EMERGENCY when u call that number.
2.loading all my connection configurations for GPRS and WAP.
3. customising the MMS settings to my specific setting.
4. loading my personal today screen
5. setting the voice mail number to a specific number.


also can you tell me how to edit an existing .cab file ?

Here under i am going to show you the way which will lead you to the destination you are looking for...

To edit/modify or examin a already compiled WinCE CAB file, you need WinCE CAB Manager and you can extract some customization templetes from your extended rom of you device (requires ext_rom_unlock_&_unhid) which will help you to learn about making your own customization CAB files...
