Member: 2939503 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 1 | Can a MacBook Pro 13" or 15" Retina display he refurbished? Most of the available inventory are salvaged from broken MacBooks of varying condition. The majority have some form of the dreaded stain gate or housings with varying degrees of cosmetic damage such as gouges, dents and abrasions. Unlike iPhone and iPads, there's no information available on refurbishing them, nor are there any shops willing to refurbish them. It's generally agreed that cracked displays cannot be remedied. You live with the crack or replace it. I have a hard time believing the MacBook panels cannot be refurbished with a new glass. Size doesn't seem to be the factor as a 13.3" MacBook display isn't much larger than the iPad 12.9" display, which is commonly refurbished. The construction of the display maybe a factor, but upon careful observation, the TFT lamination appears to be the same process. In fact, laminating MacBook Retina panels should be easier since it doesn't have a digitizer nor the more complex backlight assembly. Am I not seeing something here?
