Member: 1300847 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 547 | Hello, First of all, give us the board number, to see if you have the board view for it ( it is a number something like 800-12345 ) Second, this step should be after you have confirmation only, if you completly removed the board , do no power it externally.Instead use our HDBOX + Flex + Right Adaptor + Right Position only. - If Our HDBOX if not detecting power, it will provide power the chip, so external power no required and if you have it connected backwards...it might damage the board, or the HDBOX itself. Please note: We do not know what will happen with your mobo when you power it up, and all the other components are not connected, it might damage your power supply on the board, so that might be a reason why it is getting hot, we do not encourage people to remove the mobo from computer. Third, with computer put together, connect usb c charger or internal battery. and using only Adaptor + Flex + SPI adaptor see in which position the RED light on SPI adaptor turns on. That way you can detected where the power line in that debug port. Only after this step, where you got right position, right adaptor, then you could try the step 2, if you cannot read/write the chip in any of the states mentioned. Thanks & Best Regards! HDB Team |

Member: 1300847 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 547 | Hello, Thank you for the informations, and now we have all the information we needed for your macbook 12" (Model Board, EMC, Computer SN). The issue with this specific board is that the board is having 2 spi chips on it ( one 3.3v and one 1.8v), and both are accessible via debug port. We are still verifying more things before we can give you a clear course of action with this mac. Best regards HDBOX Support Team. |

Member: 1300847 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 547 | Hello, we worked till we find an mac A1534 with firmware password and we removed the firmware passowrd to check everything. After talking with the engineer in charge of this mac (A1534) he suggest you could try like this: 0-Put it together, and using smart search from our software to confirm position and connector (Make sure no FLEX is damaged, nothing is broken, etc) 1-He DID NOT removed anything from the board, he just lifted 1-2cm enough to connect the connector ( the battery is still connected, but without USB C charger ) 2-Then he pressed power to power on, and when apple logo appreared, he pressed power again, until computer went to sleep, 3- KEEP HOLDING power button at all times, he started pressing read ID, 4 times read bad IDs, 5th was good ID, then he was able to read it, remove firmware password, and write back... AND HE WAS STILL HOLDING THE POWER BUTTON. 4- WHen he was done removed everything, put the board back in, and the computer started without firmware password. 5- He passed me the file, and i will prepare it for your computer so you could write this file if the content of your chip is corrupted ( I will send you the file via PM ) 6- KEEP PRESSING POWER BUTTON until you are completly done, otherwise start from point1. IF your computer is not starting, simply connect everything, lift the board a little, connect connector, press and hold power.... after 20 secs, press read ID (still hold the power) .... click it a couple of timers with a 1-3 seconds between them, after you get ID, click read, unlock, etc, and HOLD the power pressed at all times, only remove when you are ready. Best regards HDBOX Support Team. |
