I have issue for all ZTE devices I have tried so far. When using FTM->EDL tool always says searching device when connected USB and in FTM mode already. It won't connect to start the job.
May it be the cable I am using? I use same cable for all ANDROID, LG SAMSUNG etc

You need to Install FTM drivers which are available on Support Area.
