Need help on Retrofit Ver 4.23 software installation please!

I dowloaded the Alcatel Service SW Retrofit vers 4.23 for HE1 and HD1 from the http://unlock.prolidi.cz website to my laptop which have windows 2000. I tried to run the software but have some problem. When I unzipped the files I see so many files in there.

Can anyone please help me how can I install this software to my laptop? Can I install it on Window 2000?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Just tried copying the Cvirt and *.dll files into windows/system folders still does not work. Anyway when I try to run the program it gives me a red box window with the words "ERREUR INITIALISATION LGT" I think I'm getting somewhere.

Anyone have come across the same problem, please share!

Hi all,

not yet finish my last post. here are the problems.

1. Most of the times as soon as I plug in the cable to the phone, the mobiles turns itself on.

2. Sometimes it stays off but I have to select switch on twice in order for the phone to be on. When I select general --> connect it displays error message "Erreur emission message", Erreur envoi message LCE. Then program seems to be freezed and can not exit normally. I have to Ctrl+Alt+Delete to quit the program.

Please help if you have come across this kind of problem.

thanks

use cable with external power suply
than
1. power on phone
2. power off (while doing it - when phone swithces off) connect cable press power on in retrofit and quickly connect
3. phone now should be in test mode
4. next is easy

Please let me try to put things you said before all together..

All software made for Windows95/98 that use port (COM ports) connections does not work in Windows 2000/XP just because there is no compatibility between 2000/XP with prior win versions in comunication API functions. There is a small program named Useport.exe (i think) that should solve this problem.

It is a very simple task to change a simple data cable to a external powered one. Just use a 9V bat. with a diode following the positive wire (anode to the bat) and plug the two wires with the serial diode to the circuit. The black one goes to circuit ground. The one with the diode (positive) should be connected to a supply point. If there is an IC like 7404 link to its 14 pin, if there is a 5V regulator (7805), link it to pin ner 1. If there is nothing of this, find what COM port pins are beeing used to power the circuit and conect the positive wire after the circuit diode connected to that pin. Usualy there are 2 RS232 pins doing that job.

This is not a good thing to explain in text but.. maybe it gives u some ideas : )
