Flashing with notebooks - Help!

I have a notebook Compaq Armada M700 and I can't make work the Dejan flasher cable on LPT!
I've installed Win XP with UserPort and Win 98: with Win XP flasher by Rolis it doesn't recognize the phone, with Win 98 it crashes!
I think it depends by the parallel port, that doesn't seem to be standard: I found this solution:

http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/arc...hp/t-96597.html

but I can't understand if I should short-circuit some pins and how!

Howerver, can anyone tell me please models of old notebooks (in special way Pentium or Pentium II) with which it's sure it's possible to flash Nokia using flasher cable on LPT??

in system BIOS try to set the LPT port to this values

LPT = ECP
DMA = 3
Port add = 0378
IRQ = 7

Thank you, I'll try, but searching I discovered that almost surely the problem depends by low voltage on LPT port in some notebooks, so I was looking for old notebooks which are not affected by this problem!
