Exclamation Dejan flasher suddenly stopped working! Help!

Dear friends!

I've got a problem with Dejan's interface. It worked OK with 3 PC with all phones I had (3210, 5110, 6110, 3310). Some time ago it suddenly refused to work with 3210 v6.00 ID 00898890. Then it stopped to work at all on one of my PCs but worked on the other two ones. Again a little later it stopped to work on all of my three PCs, so I decided to change the chip inside. I've replaced the chip, tested the signal conversion by the debug command and a multimeter and everything was OK, but the flasher produces the same error on all PCs: (Boot count). The diodes and resistors are all checked and found good. So I don't know what was happened and what to do with this.
Please, help me, if you can!!!

Thanx in advance.
Reply, please, to my e-mail as well.
WBR, Chris.

Hi Chris,

If I were you,I'll build another interface to isolate the trouble...I think the trouble is still on your interface...unless otherwise, your 3 pc's LPT ports were destroyed by your original flasher.

Anyway, it can serve as your backup if all be working normal again..

Regards,
neb

Could a dodgy flasher/data-cable destroy the LPT port of a computer?

Hi Blunty,

Why not?!...Especially if your using external power supply on your interface...a defect on your regulator circuit can damage your chip and can inflict it to your LPT port....

As a very good bad examples are, when I damaged my LPT port when I was experimenting with data comm on my hf receiver four years ago..

The next was almost 2 yrs ago, when again damage my com port when I was again experimenting with an M2bus interface..

So...then why you don't believe that a defective interface can inflict problems on your pc ports?

Regards,

neb
