6210 Lock with FFFEEE FF - GSM-Forum

can this be fix?

it's a 6210. at first the imei was 0000000000 n 6565656565. i was able to restore the original imei (sec imei n plain imee) BUT STILL It's has the CLOSED FFFFEE.

any ideas? thanks

i think ur eepron area is corrupted, only nokia service center can help you unless u have the original backup of that phone from 0020-0060... tag ulan na!!!

another question. is the eeprom area unique on every unit. ex. my 6210 5a0-600 v 3.74, compare to your 6210 same area? can i not just copy the eeprom of your cell to mine?

Yup, every EEPROM area are unique to each phone. They contain a unique IMEI, maybe the FlashAuthorityID, the MSID, and maybe other data as well.

Even if you have two 6210v374, they still have unique EEPROM contents. So you just can't copy the EEPROM area of one phone to the other even if they are the same modle and version.

another query.

what if i copy a full flash + eprom of a 6210 v 3.74. then copy a different 6210 flash + erpom. then return the original flash + eeprom. would the said unit work?

i ask this question bec. i want to know if i can access the flash wholely. if the answer is yes. it means that it's only the eprom data that is important. if the data is corrupt the cell is dead. hehehe

Doing that is like flashing your phone with your same, original full flash with eeprom.

Because you see, you overwrote your phone with a full flash 6210v3.74 with eeprom, so your phone now has a 6210v3.74.

Then you overwrote your phone with a different full flash 6210 with eeprom, so your phone now has the different 6210 flash.

Lastly you overwrote your phone with your original full flash 6210 with original eeprom, so your phone now has its original flash and eeprom.

Doing the above experiments should prove that you can access your phone's flash from 00200000h to 00600000h.

But first, be sure to backup your 6210's full flash from 00200000h to 00600000h and keep it in a safe hard disk or data-CD.

Check the contents and if it has no other data other than 00FF00FF, then you don't have the right backup and don't proceed with the experiment because you will definitely kill your phone with no chance of recovering it yourself using the Flasher 1.00b.

First you have to have a copy of your full flash (00200000h to 00600000h).

1. Open the full backup with a Hex Editor like Hexworks.
2. The EEPROM area is from offset 003FC000-00400000 (which is equivalent to 005FC000-00600000 in the phone).
3. Take note of the data along that area. If around the beginning of that area has the keyword "EEPROM", then you have a valid flash.
4. Rename this full flash to my6210.fls and store it somewhere like in My Documents. Remember, you have this copy as the original full flash of your phone so don't overwrite it with anything else. To be really sure, make a ZIP file copy of this full flash and don't add or write anything to that ZIP file.
Then make a copy for your experiments and put in the NK_FILES directory where you would do experiments or just study it. Just don't touch the my6210.fls store in your My Documents. That file is for emergencies only.
