8290 - don't know service provider - GSM-Forum

Hi - I've got a locked NOK 8290, and I want to unlock but don't know the service provider it was locked to (bot it used on ebay). Any way to figure it out? thanks.

it seems its really hard to calculate that kind of phone without an info...
rather mate u have to unlock it via direct cable... using rolis... without any risk... or what ever soft u have there to unlock via cable...

there is one another option to check service provider, just go to menu 1."services" 2.service setting 3. here u can see the service provider. that might help u to check service provider.

Thanks for the tips - The phone just reads "insert SIM card" and none of the buttons will do anything, so not sure now to get to the menu........?

The best thing you can do is just take it to a shop and pay to have it done properly you obviously dont know enough.
