Hi m8, this brings back memories. I did this to my 8210 about a year ago. It had software version 5.16. I used an mbus just like u but was not aware that any phone with software over 5.11 could not be unlocked with the standard data cable. U need a flasher. At the time i didnt have 1 so i went down to the local nokia centre and just acted dumb. They swapped it for me straight away, but this was while back and now they know what paople r trying to do. SO u've got 3 options m8:

1. Buy a flasher
2. Go down to your local nokia service centre
3. Bin the phone.

Hope this helps.

Or you could sell it to me for £10.00 (hehe).
If you need a flasher diagram I have just done a stripboard diagram of Dejan's circuit (nice and easy) and I can give you all the part numbers to get your parts from the local Maplins (cost less than £10.00)
Or if your local then mail me.
I live in the north west.

Mens!...
Are you sure that, JaMo will solve his problem flashing his phone?
I only have this problem one time, with a 3210 5.31 (playing with eeprom pins ), then Dejan flasher didn't exist,, so I couldn't test flashing it.
I think locks state (when get FFFF on the 4 closed locks) is writen in eeprom memory like a special troubleshot (not only "locks closed"), so if you just flash the flash ;P , phone gona be display "contact servece" anyway.
To solve Problem, I think, tere are 2 diferent options:

1.-Copy from another 8210, flash and eeprom (with flasher, easy) and put into your 8210 (don't care soft ver.) The only problem is that IMEI will be duplicated.

2.-Buy 8210, change PCB, and return back to shop . This is what I did with 3210 .
