6210 IRDA hardware for PC use?

Hello, I hope it is not very much off-topic. I have an opportunity to strip a 6210 of everything, and I have an IrDA ready motherboard. Do you think it would be possible to connect the infrared hardware from 6210 to the PC?

No, no, I am talking about ripping out the IRDA hardware from a 6210's board, and connecting it to the motherboard of my PC to have an iRDA PC...

Cool

Here's 2 links with schematics to use with pc-motherbord ir-ports. Haven't tested cause my motherboard don't support it and I have a MA600 adapter.

Link 2

Thanks for the links, do you think the IR part inside the 6210 could replace the Vishay-Telefunken TFDS4500 IR-Transceiver ?
