Member: 7932 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | NFREE suxx I tried this before with NFREE (Viper) and NCALC also, but the checksum calculation isnt working. After flashing it doesn`t find NET. So at the moment isn`t any working method of checksum calculation instead of box or log. And i know there are a few offline logger programs, but nobody want them to share I`m also using logger for what i payed CHEERS 2 U ALL !!! Member: 6426 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Well, my soft doesn't suck. Ok, right now it can't calculate FAID/Flashchecksum/Cobbachecksum so far, but it can fix all other checksums. Currently, i'm going to port my soft to linux. Just wanted to present my new version on 18c3 but the weather wasn't that well, so i could not go there :0( I'm gonna report soon about a new version :0) Cyaa, Viper BJK |

Member: 7932 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | 1st of all Viper and Darklemming sorry for the word SUXX. I tried to change IMEI with NCALC by editing the binary 6210(20000-60000), and than flashing to phone. After that i used logger for correcting checksums, but it didnt find NET . The imei wasn`t changed right by pressing *#06# (but in the program it was OK). So it was a diference: Original IMEI 44934220140755, Security IMEI 449342201407556, and 449342201407553 by pressing *#06#. That is the story why i used SUXX word. Sorry once more. I`m waitting for the solutions of changing IMEI. In NFREE i didn`t find any options for change the IMEI. Or am i blind ??? |

Member: 8086 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 180 | HalfX,you do not know anything about nokia phones :-( IMEI can not changed by only fixing some checksums in eeprom. You need to change COBBA ID too. That is hard, and can not be changed by editing eeprom or flash dump. That is why ppm and mcu sw changing still not work with viper`s tool. And learn what "suxx" mean man before you use it... |

Member: 2553 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 3 | Hi,
I have the greatest respect for people like dark and Viper, they have done a lot for us and my following question is in no way intended to lessen the value of vipers work but i don't realy know in what situations can vipers soft save a phone, i know his software and have it in 2 or 3 diferent versions and have often tried to use it but always without success!
I have heard that you can do a lot with this soft but i can't use it in any reasonable way and now comes my question:
can anyone please give us some examples of situations where we could use Vipers soft?
please understand that i am not understimating vipers work, i just want to learn how to get more out of his very popular soft
Happy new year and best regards
Meam |

Member: 4408 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 5 | MEAM
Viper's Prog NFREE, if properly used can absolutely help you a lot. The extracting of good backup file of the unit, first and foremost is the most important part. You should know the right PPM/MCU/LOCK and security area of the phone. It was my first tool for Contact Service Problem that was caused by MCU rom Checksum FAILED(usually 2x-blink; insert sim card then CS), when MCU back-up was not downloadable. It was the first to give solution to 6210 & 7110 Security code problem (correct me if I'm wrong). Even though sometimes, after repairing 3330/8250 with this tool it lost its Network (I knew it was not properly decoded and supported) It helps a lot, specially for all other units with lots of DEFECTS specially for us here, the 3310s, 6210, 7110 & 82xx. THE SECRET of all of these was having a GOOD BACKUP, good boot and f_loader. It started all before the Box 1.05 for MCU/PPM Repairer to those who can't afford to buy and the best alternative was... NFREE by Viper. That will be all for now. HAPPY NEW YEAR to all forum members... |

Member: 2553 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 3 | Thanks Ed2k_1 for your reply,
everybody on this board knows that you are an expert and your replies are always good to read
you are right 100% about 6210 security problem and to check if the back up was ok and the choice of F-loader and...it was a great program .
it saved me once from a big trouble, it was right at the beginning of partial unlocking, i full flashed a 7110 from 20-60 from another phone, of course the phone was good for dust bin, different IMEI, i changed IMEI with Nfree( the phone was not working but you could turn it on and insert pin and then would freeze, *#06# showed the right IMEI) brought it to nokia center and they gave me a new 6210 in exchange!!!
they could not repair the phone and didn't have any 7110 in stock, and that was realy the only time i had problems with any nokias by unlocking, maybe that's why i did not use NFREE so often.
I am glad that viper is working on a new version, we just have to wait and see what it can do
Thanks and a very happy new year to everyone
Meam |
