Member: 245 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 1 | Need information about Netmonitor!!!
Since last week I have a 5110, and somebody told me that there is a secret menu (menu 10) called netmonitor If this is true, what can I do with netmonitor? I think I need a cable and software do activate this menu (please somebody confirm this). I found on Bontek’s page two programs 1. A program called pclocals to use with a fbus cable and 2. 2. Another program called netmonit.exe for windows to use with a mbus cable. If I had both cable which program should I use??? Thanks in advance! (And sorry for my bad English) |

On older models you can activate the NM with special key's (like other mobile phones, e.g. Siemens S3com ...), on newer Nokia phones you need a cable and a software for this purpose. On Nokia 51xx and 61xx you need a FBUS or MBUS cable and the software pclocals V1.3 (FBUS & MBUS) or netmonitor for win9x (only MBUS). It depends on the cable which software you should use. I have the original datasuite cable (DAU-9P) which is F- and MBUS compatible. Some other cables (mostly self made) are only FBUS compatible. Then you can only use PCLocals V1.3 to activate the NM. Btw., I used PCLocals to activate the NM although I could use netmonitor for win9x. If you have a FBUS cable you can modify it with a diode to have the MBUS compatibility. You should read some pages for doing this. The Net monitor gives you information about your used provider (provider code [mcc+mnc], used cell [cell id], channel number, TX & RX levels, TA - distance between your phone and the BTS ...) and the phone (status of accumulator, temperature of accumulator, phone software (and checksum) ...). cya |
