Lightbulb Problems removing the GID lock with new SIM's

Hello,

Some provider are stepping over to newer SIM versions. This has made a new kind of problem. The problem I encountered was the following. I tried to make a KPN phone of a D* 6150, but KPN has these new SIM's.

These SIM's have a different way that stores the GID file. The strange thing is, the file is still the same.. it has FFFF as GID code, but when the phone tries to read it, it doesn't get any reply. Result? I cannot change D* phones to KPN anymore..

Can someone shed some light on this new situation?

regards,
MrProdent

Hello,

Sometimes I find it strange when my questions aren't awnsered, but then I remember myself, that this Forum has become an exchange board. So whatever question I have... It won't be awnsered unless I pay someone a ****load of money for it, or offer him/her/it some software goods that he/she/it can sell somewhere else

Come on people these sort of things need to be solved! Because soon enough we will have a new problem... and you will be the first ones who come nagging here for the solution.

regards,
MrProdent

I agree with you.
I haven't got ANY answer for my questions, just "Send it to me , send it to me too" messages.
Real serious guys don't read these boards, or they are the moderators....
Sorry for the exception...

Best regards,

Janos

Hello,

I agree to the thought that it's not Lock 5 but .. I know it's not the 5050 code and also not the 4D4D code because when I read the SIM it displays this: FF FF FF FF FF.

But since I havn't verified it I'll try them. I have heard of these new GID codes befor but I was told these were only for the new Pre-paid SIM's

regards,
MrProdent
