changing the DEFAULT ringtones on your 5110???

is there a sw that can do this? if there is, is it 100% working.... cuz if its not it may not be worth taking the risk I mean all the default ringtones... thanx!!

U can not change the default ringtone on ur nokia phones 5110.

ok, just wondering cuz i thimk if nokia can program it inside why cant we program it too, and it would be kinda cool huh? (i know nothing about programming hehehe)

i've tried this before with no success
i compared 5110 flash with other nokia phones
and tried to alter ringtones with hexeditor
but phone says contact service when i wrote flash back to phone.

Hello everybody It is impossible for us to change the defualt ringtone for 5110.its because it has short memory for the ringtone IC.it can only process 3bits dats why it cannot be change,if theres one semiconductor that can produce an extended chip for the ringtone why not.still keep on research may be sumday will find a solution for dat.

I don't think we need to add nor alter our phone's hardware in order for us to change the ring tone on our phone, although changing ringtone is very very hard while changing alert tones is relatively easier (check this link: http://www.gsmcity.de/cgi-bin/ultima...=001084#000010 )

If we can recalculate the checksum and store them in their proper place in the flash, then we can have 30 user ringtones in our phone (depending on the number of default ringtones on our phone).
